On 21 October 2026 the updated Uzbek Latin alphabet was approved: four letters were replaced with new ones — Ö, Ğ, Ş, Ç. Yangi Alifbo 2026 lets you type them effortlessly on a regular keyboard and convert old texts to the new alphabet in one click.

- Brackets, hyphen and equals sign — with the right Alt key.
- Tutuq belgisi (ʼ) — right Alt + apostrophe.
- Caps Lock works for the new letters too.

Word add-in
After installation, “Yangi alifbo” buttons appear on the Word ribbon:
Links, email addresses, English words and the tutuq sign (Isʼhoq, maʼno) stay unchanged. Formatting is preserved. Everything can be undone with a single Ctrl+Z.

Installation
- Download the installer.
- Run the file and follow the setup wizard.
- When it finishes, sign out of Windows and sign back in (or restart the computer).
- Choose the layout: Win + Space (or Alt + Shift) → “Özbek lotin 2026”.
If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
System requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit (Intel or AMD processor).
- ARM-based computers are not supported yet.
- Microsoft Word for the add-in.
